Post-migrant Society

d|part supports (post-)migrant actors in identifying the requirements for better social and political representation.

About

Migration is an inherent element of modern democracies, with migrants, children and grandchildren of migrants, and debates about migration shaping the transformation of many societies. Nevertheless, people with a (family) history of migration are often underrepresented in political processes and other domains of public life. More often than not, debates are held about migrants instead of with them.

At d|part, we support (post-)migrant communities in highlighting structural barriers and identifying the requirements for better social and political representation. Through empirical research and based on the unique experiences and ideas of migrants and people with a history of migration, we jointly develop concepts that help to strengthen the participation and representation of (post)migrant communities in the political process and public life.
