Ann-Kristin is a political scientist at Aarhus University in Denmark. She joined d|part as a Fellow in 2014 and specialises in party membership and public opinion.
In Aarhus, Ann-Kristin is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science. Previously, she has worked at KU Leuven in Belgium, the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, and the University of Twente in the Netherlands. She received her doctorate from the University of Twente (the Netherlands) for her thesis on the effects of party membership decline on party organisations. Her main research interests are in party politics, public opinion, survey methodology, and theories of representative democracy.
She was part of the European Social Survey Netherlands team at the University of Twente. Funded by the Dutch research council, she was involved in the design and analyses of several population-based survey experiments that answer methodological and substantive research questions.
Ann-Kristin holds a BA in politics and law from the University of Münster (Germany) and an MA in politics from Warwick University (United Kingdom).
